Webinar: Using Jira & Greenhopper for Agile Development

4 Nov

After all these posts on agile process and tools, if you’re interested in hearing live how I’m using Jira and Greenhopper, then sign up for this webinar Wednesday.

After introductions from Atlassian and Pyxis, I’ll be talking for 15 min on how we’re using them here, on our live dataset.  I’m talking about why we choose Jira/Greenhopper, how the entire team uses it, and what some of my favorite features are.

    Hi,

I actually thought the webinar was great and very helpful. One thing I did not quite understand is, since JIRA does not have a notion of 'sprints', how do you guys handle a 2-week sprint session? Also, how do you guys use Greenhopper with JIRA to model a release?
  • Hi Manjeera,
For each sprint, we create a "release" in jira. So in our case, if we have 5 2 weeks sprints, I'll create 5 releases, "1.0 M1, 1.0M2, etc".
Greenhopper has a concept of parent releases as well. So then I'll create a parent release called "Release 1.0", and in Greenhopper, mark each sprint as belonging to the parent. It's very easy, and works great!
